STOMACH BOTOX

Stomach Botox is a non-surgical procedure in which the botulinum toxin is injected in some areas of the stomach to stimulate the muscles to lessen the appetite. Since the botulinum toxin is a temporary agent to reduce the activity of the muscles, there is no permanent changes done in the stomach.

The procedure can be done for anyone who is between 18-65 years old. It is done by endoscopic methods, so no surgery is needed. The procedure takes about 20 minutes, and the effects can last up to 8 months. It can be redone for 3 times in total in Orenda Health with provided high quality techniques.

The aim of the procedure is to limit the muscles of the stomach so that the appetite can be reduced. To get the most benefit from this procedure, the patients themselves need to take good care of their health and take advantage of the procedure and not over-eat. The results of the stomach botox procedure, is totally dependent on the willpower of the patients.

The botox injections are done in the upper and bottom parts of the stomach where it joins the intestines. The injections help reduce the hunger hormones, so that the patients can feel less hunger, more fullness. When the patient is eating, they feel full faster, and it takes longer for the stomach to feel empty again. There is no side-effects recorded for this procedure, but people who has any muscle disorders, or anyone who is allergic to botulinum toxin, should not apply for this procedure.

Since the procedure affects the performance of the stomach muscles, it cannot be done more than 3 times. Also it shouldn’t be seen as an alternative to gastric sleeve, gastric bypass or gastric balloon operations.
