FOREHEAD REDUCTION

This operation, also known as hairline lowering procedure, is aimed at people who have larger foreheads due to several causes such as genetics, hair loss etc. It reduces the size of the forehead by choosing a suitable hairline shape, either by lowering the hairline with the skin or by implanting new hair roots into the area to sculpt the desired hairline, or both, helping to balance the proportions of the face.

Forehead reduction surgery can be combined with other facial cosmetic surgeries such as, forehead tightening, brow lifting, hair transplantation around the hairline etc. The doctors can recommend what can be suitable to do alongside the forehead reduction surgery if the patient wants to undergo multiple operations.

Recovery After the Surgery

After the surgery, some pain and discomfort along with swelling and some bruising may occur around the affected area and on the sutured line. Incision site can feel numb due to locally applied anesthesia. The doctors will provide you with the post-operation information on how to take care of the sutures, how to reduce the swelling and manage the pain. Because of the sutures, the skin around the affected area may feel tight and tense. Ointments with antimicrobial properties should be used on the incision sites. Recuperation may take up to a week depending on the sensitivity the patient feels. Usually you can go back to work in between 2-7 days. The doctor may ask to have another appointment for the check-up of the affected site in Orenda Health.
