If these procedures do not work, a cure such as pocket reduction surgery on the gums and surrounding bone may be recommended to save the tooth. Local anesthesia is used to numb the gingival area. A soft tissue laser or scalpel is used to expose more of the tooth and reshape the gingival line. Sutures can be used to keep the gingival texture intact.
If your gingival are receding and the technique involves adding gingival tissue, tissue will be removed from another part of your mouth, perhaps your palate. This tissue is put around your teeth to lengthen and reconstruct your gingival line. In Orenda Health, gingival shaping usually takes about 1 to 2 hours with well-supported physicians and team.
